They say when you own your own business, you never get a break, never get a day off.
And in a way, it’s true–you eat, drink, breathe and dream your business (the last is most important). You talk about it with everyone. Sometimes, when something’s tough, at everyone.
I knew all that going in, after watching my dad own a few businesses with varying degrees of success as I grew up. It even put me off opening my own business for a long time. But what you don’t always hear is that it’s SO rewarding. At least my business.
Because the work of my business is the work of healing my community, and that’s a beautiful thing.
So as I go to bed late, thinking of which products to stock first, how to make my space even more inviting and the dreaded marketing challenge, and get up early on Saturday to come in and work on clients, I am just profoundly happy to be here with each of you–holding space for your healing and doing the tough work in the trenches (or IT bands, as the case may be) while keeping you as comfortable and relaxed as possible.
And I think I’m incredibly lucky to be doing this work, nurturing my business and my community at the same time, and to be completely loving it.
